Aaron Boswell | Lead Pastor & Church Planter
Aaron Boswell is the Lead Pastor and church planter of Heritage Hill Baptist Church.
For more than twenty-one years, Aaron has served in pastoral ministry, missionary work, church planting, and church planter development. Much of that ministry has focused on helping healthy churches start, strengthening local churches, and equipping ordinary Christians to live as missionaries in the places God has put them.
Before returning to North Texas, Aaron and his family spent many years serving in Canada. During that time, Aaron helped plant and pastor churches, coached and trained church planters, and most recently served as the Lead Pastor of The Trails Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba—a church he planted in 2020.
Aaron holds a Master of Arts in Missiology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
A Heart for Healthy Churches
Over the years, Aaron has become increasingly convinced that one of the greatest needs in growing communities is not simply more churches, but more healthy churches.
Churches:
deeply rooted in God’s Word.
centered on the gospel.
where Christians are known, loved, discipled, and equipped.
where every member understands that they are sent by Jesus into everyday life.
that raise up leaders, send missionaries, and multiply themselves for the sake of the gospel.
That conviction has shaped much of Aaron’s ministry and is at the heart of why Heritage Hill is being planted.
Planted Out of Redeemer Church, Denton
In 2026, Aaron, his wife Samantha, and their four children moved from Canada to North Texas to begin the next chapter of church planting ministry. Aaron currently serves on staff at Redeemer as a Church Planting Resident, where he is helping develop a residency for future church planters while preparing to launch Heritage Hill in September 2027.
Throughout this process, Aaron is working closely with the elders of Redeemer and is grateful for their pastoral support, encouragement, accountability, training, and partnership.
As a ministry, we believe healthy churches are best planted by other healthy churches. By God’s design and grace, Heritage Hill is not being planted alone … We are being sent from a healthy, wonderful church with a passion for church planting.
Why Church Planting?
Aaron believes church planting is one of the most effective ways to reach new people with the gospel and to strengthen the wider church. New churches are often uniquely positioned to meet new neighbors, engage growing communities, and build relationships with people who may never step into an established church.
Church planting also creates a natural environment for discipleship and leadership development. From the beginning, people are invited not simply to attend, but to pray, serve, open their homes, share the gospel, make disciples, and take responsibility for the life and mission of the church. And when healthy churches plant other healthy churches, the goal is not competition … it is multiplication.
More churches mean more places where the gospel is preached, more Christians are equipped, more leaders are developed, more neighborhoods are served, and more people are sent into God’s mission.
That is one reason Heritage Hill is being planted in a rapidly growing part of North Texas.
As new communities take shape, we want to see healthy churches taking root alongside them.
Not simply to gather people who are already Christians, but to reach people who are not, make disciples, develop leaders, and, Lord willing, one day help plant more healthy churches ourselves.
We want Heritage Hill to be a church that is planted in order to plant.
